Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest Champions Announced

Bertoletti Wins Men's Title, Sudo Takes Women's

Patrick Bertoletti of Chicago devoured 58 hot dogs to claim victory in the men's division of the annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. Miki Sudo, the top-ranked female eater since 2014, reclaimed the women's title after missing the 2021 contest due to pregnancy.

Joey Chestnut, the reigning champion, was absent from this year's event. Bertoletti, a first-time winner, seized the opportunity and set a personal record of 58 hot dogs.

Sudo, meanwhile, continued her dominance in the women's category. She consumed 40 hot dogs, surpassing her previous record of 38. The competition marked the 100th anniversary of the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, a tradition that has become a staple of the Fourth of July festivities in New York City.

In 2021, Chestnut set the world record for consuming 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Sudo holds the women's world record of 49 hot dogs and buns eaten in 10 minutes.
