Amazon Opens New Mini Fulfillment Center in Greenwood
New Facility to Enhance Delivery Capabilities in Central Indiana
Greenwood, IN (Business Wire) --
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has officially opened its latest mini fulfillment center in Greenwood, Indiana. The new facility will enhance the company's delivery capabilities in Central Indiana and support the growing demand for fast and convenient online shopping.
The Greenwood fulfillment center is a smaller version of Amazon's traditional fulfillment centers, designed to handle smaller items like electronics, home goods, and toys. It will utilize Amazon's advanced robotics and automation technology to pick, pack, and ship customer orders. The center will employ approximately 200 full-time employees.
The opening of the Greenwood fulfillment center marks Amazon's continued investment in Indiana. The company currently operates a larger fulfillment center in Plainfield and employs over 10,000 full-time employees statewide.
The Greenwood fulfillment center will be able to fulfill orders for same-day delivery to eligible customers in the Indianapolis area. Amazon Prime members will be able to receive eligible orders in as fast as two hours.
"We are excited to bring Amazon's fast and convenient delivery services to more customers in Central Indiana," said Amazon spokesperson Kristin Perrone. "The new Greenwood fulfillment center will create hundreds of new jobs and help support the local economy."
