Tiger Woods tees off in pursuit of sixth green jacket
Woods seeks to surpass Couples and Gary with 24th consecutive made cut at Augusta National
Tiger Woods is set to tee off at 3:54 pm ET at Augusta National Golf Club, where he'll try to win a sixth green jacket. The five-time Masters champion is making his 26th appearance at the tournament this week. Woods is seeking to surpass Fred Couples and Gary Player with a 24th consecutive made cut at Augusta National.
Woods, who is making his first appearance at the Masters since 2020, played a practice round with Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas on Tuesday. He said he is feeling good about his game and is looking forward to the challenge of trying to win his first major championship since 2019.
"I'm excited to be back at Augusta National," Woods said. "I love this tournament. It's one of my favorites. I'm feeling good about my game and I'm looking forward to the challenge of trying to win my sixth green jacket."
Woods will tee off in the second-to-last group of the day on Thursday, alongside playing partners Justin Thomas and Joaquin Niemann. He will be looking to get off to a good start and build some momentum for the weekend.
"I'm just going to take it one day at a time," Woods said. "I'm going to try to play my best and see where it takes me."
